Transmission has always been part of FIMAC’s DNA. This year’s master class, led by Gertrud <\/b>Weyhofen<\/b>, offers a unique opportunity to take a look at young musicians in the midst of their apprenticeship<\/b>. Under the guidance of this great teacher, they explore and perfect their art, confront their ideas and interpretations, and learn to dialogue with their peers. Passion<\/b>, creativity<\/b> and technique<\/b> come together, revealing the students’ efforts and progress. It’s an inspiring experience for the audience, and a memorable one for the participants. <\/p>\n

An internationally acclaimed mandolinist, Gertrud Weyhofen<\/strong> performs as both soloist and chamber musician. She has toured many countries, including Korea, the United States, Japan, Spain and France. Her CDs include world premieres and composer portraits. She is also a publisher of educational and original literature. A professor at the Kassel Academy of Music, she specializes in historical mandolin interpretation and regularly gives master classes. <\/p>\n
